✰My Cameras✰

35mm

1976 Pentax K1000 with 28mm f2.8

Has a broken lightmeter and the neck strap from my Maxxum 3000i. I picked this up off of FB marketplace for about 100 bucks (AUD) as my first mechanical film camera! It originally came with a cheap 70-210mm zoom but i bought this 28mm prime shortly after.

1983 Nikon L35 AF

Unfortunately this won't turn on and is unresponsive to any inputs. I got it given to me as a gift from a relative who said it worked last time they used it, which was about 20 years ago haha. There was a little bit of corrosion in the battery contacts but nothing substantial, its probably a slightly damaged circut connection somewhere inside. It would have been nice to use if it worked :(.

1988 Minolta Maxxum 3000i with 50mm f1.7

I bought this as a duo pack with the 404SI, the advance drive on this is easily the loudest on all my slrs. I've only really used this a couple times as the full auto exposure is not really for me, and as a p&s its a little chunky, although the slr funciton is quite nice.

1993 Canon EOS 500 QD with 28-105mm f3.5-4.5

I got gifted this setup from a relative in mint condition. Its pretty confortable to use and the ultrasonic AF is very satisfying, although i could never quite get used to the function / on-off dial. As I would often forget to switch out of the shooting mode into the off setting, being much more accustomed to traditional, dedicated on-off switches. And it's pretty nice being able to use more "modern" glass from the EF mount.

1999 Minolta Dynax 404si with 50mm f1.7 & 35-80mm f4-5.6

I picked this up from a $40 AUD FB marketplace bulk sale with the 3000i, and when paired with the 50mm f1.7 its an astonishing camera. Easily my go to setup for when i want reliable, consistant exposures and high quality family trip photos. You could say this is the workhorse of my film cameras.

2002 Minolta 130 Riva Zoom

This was my mum's old camera that she gifted to me not long after i got into film photography. I havent used it in a while but the lens definetely makes it stand out with that 130mm zoom. It has a number of flash modes and a very fast AF system.

2022 Kodak i60

My first ever camera / film camera! I bought this brand new and its what allowed me to get into photography as a whole and why i owe the hundreds of dollars i have since spent on this hobby! There is not a whole lot to write home about this camera. Its essentially a reusable disposable camera with a pretty body, although the button to eject the flash is very satisfying.

Medium Format

1954 Agfa Clack

Picked this up off FB marketplace for nothing and pushed a couple BW rolls through it for some fun. It feels way nicer to hold than you would expect, as the entire body and frame is made of metal. I think there is some glass in the lens, and its pretty sharp for what its worth! Although there is some pretty extreme chromatic abberation / distortion on the edges of the frame. The images kind of make me think of a higher quality lomography style camera. The viewfinder is abolutely tiny as well!

1958 Yashica D

This came with a leather protective case and a Rollei filter set including a lens hood, Hellblau, Sport, Hellgrün, Hell, Infrarot & a close up addon for each lens. I got this from one of my relatives as a gift and it has since been my go to for more slow, meaningful photos. It has also allowed me to venture into medium format and get high quality 6x6 images. Its always a conversation starter when i go out and a lovely way to connect with random people through something as small as the camera youre using.

Instant

1965 Polaroid Automatic 104 Land Camera

I picked this up at a local op shop on a bit of a whim, as ive always wanted to shoot the medium at some point in my life. I figured that as it was discontinued nearly 10 years ago there is no better time than the present. I had done some research into it before and am very aware of the steep prices for a pack of peel apart, I only assume they will increase with time, as well as their unpredictability and unreliability. I wasnt 100% familiar with the going rates for these cameras, this one seemed a little steep priced at $50 AUD, although it had 7 photos left inside of it. I was willing to take the gamble for 50 bucks and picked it up, only to find out that the film inside expired in 1976 and was completely disintregated! It also had an Everlast battery inside dated from around the late 60s, with 0 corrosion or shows of age; and basically full charge! They really dont make them like they used to haha. The camera feels good to hold but took a bit to get used to the controls, with the unique focusing system. The lightmeter seemed to work but without film i cant be 100% sure. And it was very satisfying to pull the film out, despite the pods being completely unresponsive. Due to the age of the film and battery, i feel pretty confident in saying that this camera has been sitting unused since the mid 70s, and that i am the second owner, which is pretty wild to me i reckon. It feels practically new aswell.

1967 Polaroid Automatic 250 Land Camera

Shortly after picking up the 104, FB marketplace begun to show me instant packfilm cameras in my area. I then did some more research and came across this 250 for the same price in which i paid for the 104! It seemed in good condition, and i figured that whether it did work, or didnt work, it would sit on my shelf for most of my time owning it, and look real good doing so! Its a real shame Fuji killed all chances of the format's future. This model i picked up came with an external flash unit as well as a polaroid shoulder bag from the time. There was a cartridge inside the camera, although it was empty. The rollers were a little gunky, so in cleaned those up. There was also this strong smell of old chemicals in the bag and camera that was quite difficult to get rid of, but i think i did a pretty good job now. The rangefinder window is small, but the focusing is bright, sharp and clear to see in all light. the materials and build quality feels better than the 104, as it has more metal components and glass. This one also came with a battery, although it was super corroded and got all over the battery compartment. I think if i ever get my hands on packfilm, i will convert this camera to take three AAAs instead of the weird one it was origonally designed for. Thanks to the adjustable ISO dial, i am planning to exeriment shooting Polaroid integral film in it to see the glass in action, and get atleast some use out of this camera.

1983 Polaroid Spirit 600 w/ mod for I-Type

I picked this up for 30 (AUD) bucks whilst on a trip at Phillip Island, being my first ever Polaroid camera. It came with a missing eye piece shade thing and an old cartridge still inserted, dated from the 90s; and the battery still worked! It had enough juice to fire the flash a few times before trying to charge it indefinetely. I later modded this for compatibility with I-Type, which was way easier than i thought it would be, simply had to solder a couple of wires and attatch a battery pack to the back. Although i found that it was a bit finicky sometimes but it was still totally usable.

1985 Polaroid Supercolor 635CL

Got gifted this from a friend whos parent's bought it back in the day. I love the classic all black look to this and think it helps accentuate the rainbow stripe. The close up filter is super helpful and allows me to take this to any event i go to. Its always a must do when attending events or outings and people love having their photo taken with it and seeing it develop in real time. This will remain as my go to Polaroid integral camera until i get my hands on an sx 70 or slr 680 some year in the future..

2021 FujiFilm Instax Mini 40

This was the first instant camera i ever got, gifted from my dad. It helped fulfill my growing interest in photography and allowed me to see if i had any lasting interests in photography. I shot over a hundred photos with this and enjoyed every moment of it! The Fujifilm Instax mini format is very affordable and easy to get into, allowing this camera to be an easy option for loaning to my friends or freely shooting it without carefully considering each frame.

Video

2003 Sony CCD-TRV148E

I got gifted this from a relative along with one used tape. It was in complete working order when i first got my hands on it, and i would sometimes take it out on days out or events in order to capture a different kind of feel or look than what is more traditional these days. I have also used it for small snippets of footage in short films and the like, all with the one tape!. However it has begun to play up on me. Now after a few seconds whenever i try and record onto or watch the tape it stops and starts screaming at me to eject the tape. I think this is an easy fix, however i have no parts or spare tapes and cameras to try and deduce what the exact issue is. For that reason its now a shelf item that occasionaly gets used for live crt displays.
